Job Description:
Family Office Exchange (FOX) is searching for a Senior Research Consultant to play a lead role in delivering innovative industry research to families of exceptional wealth and their advisors. The successful candidate will be able to proactively manage all aspects of a large benchmarking initiative concerning private wealth owners; other research projects and ad hoc requests; and key research studies with both quantitative and qualitative skills. Exceptional client communication and project management skills are essential. Experience supporting issues and challenges of the centi-millionaire or a strong background in investments or finance is desired.

The Senior Research Consultant will lead the Family Office Benchmarking initiative, designed to provide wealth owners and family office executives the ability to compare performance across the industry and among peer offices. The Senior Research Consultant will also play a key role in future enhancements to the benchmarking initiative, targeting the multi-family office and international family office marketplace. Although principally dedicated to the management and success of the benchmarking initiative, the Senior Research Consultant may have opportunities to work across a variety of research projects if time allows, examining unique issues within the private wealth management industry.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Analyze business problems using root cause analysis, hypothesis generation, survey design, benchmarking, and other qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Participate in the creation of research deliverables, such as benchmarking reports, trend analysis, essays, executive summaries, and speeches
• Author research reports and presentations, and present research findings to the firm’s senior managers, both in writing and verbally
• Design, launch, and manage research questionnaires and surveys distributed across the membership; utilize SPSS to manage data gathered from online surveys
• Interact directly with members who are survey participants to provide assistance with customized reports for the member’s office profile
• Conduct additional primary and secondary research within and outside of the global member community

Technical Skills:
• Construct SPSS tables for storage of survey data; cleanse and analyze collected data using SPSS and Excel
• Advanced knowledge of Excel (ability to create macros required) and SPSS
• Build reports using SQL Server Reporting Services from both precise specifications and loosely defined requirements
• Ensure data integrity and validity, including detailed review of all data input and direct follow up with research participants to cleanse data
• Plan and perform all product testing activities to ensure integrity of product with minimal oversight

Qualifications:
• Two to five years experience conducting primary and secondary research in the areas of finance, statistics/mathematics, and/or best practices/trends and advanced degree required
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interface with clients for both support and presentation
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to thoroughly follow through, communicate, plan, and implement in a self-directed fashion
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills and proven problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
• Ability to pull together and synthesize information from many sources and distill key insights from large amounts of information
