As a Senior NOC System Analyst, the qualified candidate must possess the following background.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr. NOC System Analyst will work in our client’s Network Operations Center. Duties will include working with other analysts supporting the Management platforms within the Network Operations Center. This position will have primary responsibility for the management and maintenance of the client’s HP Openview Operations for Windows (OVOW) platform which monitors the client’s IT environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
•Maintaining the HP Openview Operations for Windows Platform.
•Creation/Implementation of Monitoring Policies for UNIX/Windows/IIS/Applications.
•Develop Monitoring solutions within OVOW dependent upon the requirements set forth by our clients.•Document alarms and process for use by other analysts within the Network Operations Center.
•Must be flexible with O.T. and possible shift changes to cover for vacation/sickness.•Maintain/update NOC standard operating and escalation procedures, personnel contact lists and other NOC documentation as directed by NOC leadership.•Prepare IT network and systems performance reports and operating statistics as directed by NOC leadership.
REQUIREMENTS
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
•Extensive knowledge of HP Openview Operations for Windows.
•Ability to develop scripting and implement into Openview Policies.
•Understanding of data network hardware including switches and routers.
•Proven skills in troubleshooting and resolving problems within a large scale distributed IT environment.•Ability to correlate problems with causes, and involve higher level technical personnel support personnel, as needed, for timely resolution of IT network and systems outages.
•Ability to compile operating data/statistics and prepare performance reports.•Knowledge and experience with Windows 2OO3 (Blade, Virtual), UNIX (SUN/HPUX) Platforms.
•Knowledge of AD, DNS, DHCP.
•Ability to develop/document requirements as communicated by our clients.OTHER IT SKILLS:
•Familiarity with change management practices in an IT operating environment.
•Familiarity with IT network security practices.INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
•Ability to work with internal IT clients of varying abilities.
•Ability to prioritize tasks and to handle high pressure situations.•Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment.
•Self-starting; willingness to take personal initiative and lead others.
•Strong customer service skills, highly effective written and oral communication skillsADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
•May require ability to work at night, off-hours, holidays, and weekends (on-call rotation).
