Position Responsibilities: Senior Concrete Design Consultant for the MOX Fuel Fabrication Facility. Responsible for performing analysis and design of Seismic Category I structures with emphasis on reinforced concrete structures. Perform engineering analyses and designs with minimal management and supervisory direction. Develop and check analyses, prepare reports, presentations and documentation of results. Perform design verification and ensure technical adequacy and consistency of concrete designs.
Required Qualifications: After award of Bachelor Degree in civil / structural engineering, minimum 15 years experience in concrete analysis & design and seismic reinforcing requirements, ANSYS and/or GTSTRUDL and comparable finite element analysis programs, and detailed analysis, design, and detailing of reinforced concrete applying ACI-349. Experience in preparation of specifications for concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, and other concrete related materials. Experience in concrete, reinforcing steel, embedment, and formwork placement practices. Good planning, communication, and organizational skills. Understanding of regulatory requirements for analysis and design of reinforced concrete structures. Familiarity with ACI, AISC, ASCE 4 & 7 building design codes and standards. Working knowledge and understanding of interfaces with other engineering disciplines. Lesser experience level will be considered depending upon experience.
Desired Qualifications: 25 years experience in reinforced concrete analysis, design, and material specifications for complex Seismic Category I structures. Field experience in the construction of reinforced concrete structures. Ability to recognize concrete placement/congestion issues and define practical solutions.
