We are seeking a Senior Design Architect who will provide and/or supervise architectural design assignments for our Chicago office. The successful candidate will work independently or oversee a team to meet project design requirements on assigned projects, including programming, conceptual design, schematic design and design development. This candidate will exhibit leadership in reaching out to junior architects, enhancing image and maintaining Austin AECOM's design team. Responsibilities include conducting program interviews; gathering information on client requirements, including equipment, furniture and fixtures; developing preliminary block layouts and site plans; developing floor plans, building elevation and building sections; developing cohesive architectural design consistent with and complimentary to adjacent structures and neighborhood; selecting materials for construction of exterior and interior use; developing drawings and documentation to communicate design intent including descriptive specifications; utilizing 3D CAD and rendering tools to study design options and to communicate design intent both internally and externally; assisting the Estimating Department in understanding design intent; presenting design and project scope to client and assisting in selling the project implementation phase.
