Senior Database Administrator (Oracle)

PBS&J, a national employee owned Architecture/ Engineering firm is seeking a Senior Database Administrator with 5 years or more experience working with Oracle and SQL databases. Specifically, we are looking for a candidate who desires the opportunity use their leadership and technical skills to design, implement and maintain business systems on an enterprise level. The successful candidate will have the experience and skills to do the following:

•Provide Database administration or operations support for a both Oracle and SQL databases. Support the ongoing operations of the production environment and support to development efforts as required.
•Provide detailed documentation on the ongoing support requirements need for this environment.
•Perform database administration in support of operations.
•Troubleshooting of PL/SQL and Transact SQL.
•Develop and maintain Database Startup and Shutdown procedures.
•SQL Scripting related to reporting and troubleshooting.
•General database performance tuning.
•Maintains a variety of database environments (Production, Development, Staging/Test)
•Index Management
•Upgrade/Install of all Oracle RDBMS, Oracle Applications Software and Operating Systems
•Provides periodic maintenance and disposal of ‘log’ and ‘out’ files, dynamic tables such as interface and concurrent request tables.
•Monitors Database resources (tablespace usage and fragmentation, I/O Loads, rollback segments, space planning).
•Provides tuning of the Oracle RDBMS (database initialization parameters, redo log files, archiving)

Travel will be required especially during the ramp-up period of implementation of our Oracle Business System as this individual will be interacting with all levels of internal management and with Oracle system and 3rd party vendors.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree with an emphasis in Computer Sciences or equivalent work experience required.
MDBA Certified preferred
Oracle Certified Professional preferred
•Experience implementing a full life cycle of Oracle and SQL databases and subsequent operating systems with excellent documenting skills.
•Knowledge of Oracle Database and Linux Operating Systems.
•Knowledge of SQL Server Database and Windows Operating Systems.
•Experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) a must
•Oracle Database 10g experience
