Senior Database Administration

The Homeland Secruity Solutions Division is seeking a Senior System Database Administrator(DBA).

Job Description: Lead large enterprise databases in Washington, DC area as part of a 24/7 production DBA team. This position conducts database administration on Unix SOLARIS for test, development and production databases, including Oracle RAC, installation and configuration, partition maintenance, backup and restore/recovery, and database performance monitoring and tuning. Note: 24/7 environment is handled with a rotating pager that each team member carries for one week every 8-10 weeks.

Education: B.S. in Computer Science, engineering, or related technical discipline. Extensive, directly applicable experience may substitute for the academic degree requirement.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements: - Five years of experience in a multi-instance Unix environment with hands-on experience with PL/SQL. - Five years of experience in a UNIX operating system environment. - five years of experience in Oracle (8i/9i/10g) database administration. - Ability to lead and to work productively in a fast-paced and complex environment involving multiple contractors. - U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret level clearance.

Desired Skills: SUN SOLARIS UNIX systems administration and maintenance experience are highly desirable. Experience with SQL Server is highly desirable
