Senior Counsel

Duties include negotiating, drafting and reviewing an extensive range of business and technology transactions for the Medical Products Group of Abbott Laboratories in Europe, Latin America and Canada, including agreements relating to acquisitions, divestitures, distribution, promotion, research and development, intellectual property licensing, supply and manufacturing. The position will also include counseling clients with respect to compliance with a wide range of laws, including antitrust laws and coordination with local counsel. The position will be based in Illinois and will include international travel.Qualifications
Strong drafting, negotiating and client communication skills required. Successful candidate must possess a JD degree, state bar certification, 6 to 10 years of experience in corporate and commercial law and a record of demonstrated success in counseling clients on international mergers and acquisitions transactions at a major law firm or corporation. Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry is a plus but not required.
