Senior Contracts Advisor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary commodity areas for the Senior Contract Advisor within NRECA's Vendor Management Office include financial and insurance services and products (e.g., PPO and network agreements), professional services, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO). In accordance with NRECA's customer service philosophy of "Listen, Understand, Communicate, then Deliver," the Senior Contract Advisor will manage multiple procurement projects supporting NRECA, NRECA affiliates, and NRECA members. The individual will act as lead negotiator with suppliers on procurement projects, and will be responsible for obtaining service level requirements, pricing terms, and all other relevant contract terms and conditions. Individual must maintain status reports to ensure frequent and timely updates to work unit management and customers, such reports detailing project status, issues, and negotiation objectives planned or achieved. The Senior Contract Advisor will also interface with other support groups such as Risk Management to ensure the execution of comprehensive and quality contracts.
Responsibilities include:
- Development/Management of RFXs (including market research, RFX, drafting, supplier due diligence)- Contract drafting, including related exhibits such as statements of work- Price/Terms and conditions negotiations- Management of approximately 50+ key supplier relationships and oversight of supplier performance- Achieving cost savings targets- Working with customers at the executive level- Addressing supplier disputes
REQUIREMENTS
Primary Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree (MBA or JD preferred)- Five or more years of contract negotiations experience- Proven track record of achieving cost savings and other concessions- Expert contract/terms and conditions drafting skills- Proficient with MS Office products and MS Word redlining features- Exceptional customer service skills- Ability to read and interpret supplier financial statements- Strong interpersonal, written, oral, and group presentation communication skills- Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or other procurement-relevant certification or designations- Experience with Oracle iProcurement and process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma, desired but not required
