This role will inform and educate institutional investment consultants about ING IM’s products and capabilities, with the hope of gaining endorsement from same for manager placements to their significant client base in the defined benefit/defined contribution pension, endowment/foundation, religious, hospital or ultra high net worth investment arenas.Key responsibilties include:1. Establish, maintain and nurture relationships with institutional investment consulting firms, both in terms of central research, and field consulting professionals.
2. Develop and execute proactive institutional investment consultant calling programs and presentations; the position requires extensive travel.
3. Handle basic and routine consultant inquiries.
4. Coordinate the firm’s overall relationship with assigned consulting firms.
5. Work closely with sales, product management, marketing, RFP response and portfolio management staff.
6. Responsible for understanding and complying with firm policies and procedures while performing the role outlined above.
7. Provide guidance to more junior staff but has no formal supervisory responsibility.What else can we tell you?

REQUIREMENTS
Who is our ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate for this position will have:1. 7 or more years of portfolio management, consulting, sales/marketing or related experience
2. Proven track record demonstrating relationship development/management skill that has led to growth in AUM at current firm
3. Excellent communication skills, investment knowledge, and ability to adapt in changing environment
4. Focused, team oriented individual who can operate in autonomous fashion as required
5. MBA or CFA is preferred but not required
6. Our preference is to have this individual located in the NY or Atlanta location
