Senior Compensation Consultant
Targeted Salary Range: Negotiable Hours/Schedule: 8:00 AM -- 5:00 PM Description: Analyzes and evaluates exempt and non-exempt positions to ensure a consistent and equitable establishment of job standards and worth. Guides and assists managers in preparation of job descriptions. Negotiates salary levels with managers on an as needed basis. Conducts and participates in surveys evaluating national, regional, and local data to determine the company’s competitive position. Recommends new and updates survey tools. Partners with and assists line managers and HR Liaisons with design, preparation, and documentation of incentive plans. Conducts special studies/analyses and makes recommendations on incentive compensation, bonus plans, and sales compensation. Consults and provides guidance and counsel to managers at all levels concerning the interpretation and implementation of compensation policies and practice. Performs routine audits for individuals, job groups, and salary levels to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and internal comparability. Conducts special projects are requested which may include best practice research, development of new programs, compensation communications, and executive compensation projects. Review base salary structure and geographic differentials and recommends changes necessary to ensure competitive position.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements: Requires minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree a plus. Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in the field of compensation, including salary administration and variable pay. Experience with rewards and recognition programs. Financial services and/or consulting experience a plus. CCP designation preferred.Advanced PC skills, including MS, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Access.Understands how businesses work, how organizations develop strategy, utilize technology, serve clients, succeed against competitors and generate profits. Strong advisory and influencing skills. Strong executive presence. Ability to develop and manage relationships across the company and a wide variety of partners based on trust, teamwork, and knowledge. Innate drive for results. Strong business acumen, ability to quickly understand the line of business. Strong financial acumen, understands the financial drivers of the line of business. Ability to maintain high confidentiality. Strong organizational skills, effective time management, and prioritization. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter but a team player as well. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong desire to learn, high energy. Highly proficient in Excel and Access is required. Experience using McLagan surveys preferred. Experience in supporting Investment Services, Private Banking and Trust businesses preferred.
