For more information, visit http://www.genworth.com.Lead counsel to Genworth's retail brokerage, financial planning and investment advisory business; counsel for principal underwriting function of Genworth's variable product line.Provide ongoing advice, counsel and representation on existing and new products/services, advertising and training materials review, product distribution, business combinations, acquisitions and divestitures and various contractual matters; together with Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for compliance with SEC, NASD, ERISA and applicable insurance and other laws and regulations relating to the products and operations of the retail brokerage, financial planning and advisory business; manage claims litigation and use of outside counsel.Basic Qualifications:
Legal Degree from an accredited school, admission to the bar of at least one state; minimum 5 years experience as legal counsel in corporate & securities matters, broker dealer/investment advisory regulatory areas. Demonstrated organizational and legal analytical skills; outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex legal concepts; demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision; ability to effectively support business team in diverse geographic locations, ability to balance numerous priorities within compressed timeframes; ease in working in fast-paced, team oriented environment. Demonstrated ability to deal with federal and state regulators; in depth knowledge of SEC and NASD rules and interpretations.
