STAR Technical AdvisorPosition Description

STAR Technical Advisor will provide the following services for the Data Migration and Installation of the STAR servers:Provide technical advice during hardware procurement planning.
Provide assistance with peripheral configuration.
Configure UNIX operating systems specifically for STAR/MSE installations.
Liaison between customer and MSE technical support teams.
Oversee STAR/MSE server relocation.
Perform STAR/MSE application migration for UNIX and LINUX server replacement.
Provide MSE performance assessment to determine if MSE is running efficiently.
Make modifications to MSE operating parameters to make best use of hardware resources.
Verify correct MSE release
Provide network troubleshooting/analysis.
Provide MSE backup troubleshooting/analysis.
Provide Hardware troubleshooting assistance.
Report any MSE defects to R&D.
Provides on site Data-scope captures for problem analysis.
Provide support assistance for other internal STAR support teams to expedite problem resolution.Minimum Requirements

Postion requires up to 75% travel. Must be able to work remotely and travel to customer locations weekly.Additional Knowledge & Skills

UNIX 4.x Administration, IBM AIX and HP UX
LINUX
MUMPS / MAXIMUMPs a plus
STARBASE / MSE
MS DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98, Windows NT 4.Education
