SENIOR ADVISOR-SAFETY AND HEALTH


Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation, a world-class mining and mineral processing company in Salt Lake City, Utah is looking for a Senior Advisor- Safety and Health to support our Contractor Safety and Health Program. Kennecott is owned by Rio Tinto, a world leader in finding, mining and processing the earth's mineral resources in an economically, socially, and environmentally responsible manner.


In this position you will work closely with the KUCC Engineering Services management, project leaders and contractor management to provide project safety support and assist in and develop project and task level risk assessments. You will ensure compliance with KUC policies and procedures and state and federal regulations. The ability to develop and conduct training is essential. You will coordinate accident investigations to ensure root cause and corrective actions are identified.


Qualifications include a B.S. Degree in safety engineering or a related field, a minimum of 4 years relevant experience, including construction safety and knowledge of MSHA and OSHA standards. Requires a strong, demonstrated commitment to safety and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
