Food Lion is the proud employer of 80,000 associates.The Real Estate Representative will develop and implement short-term and long-term Real Estate strategies for each market area within the territory.
The Real Estate Representative's job duties include the following:
Coordinate the evaluation and negotiate the cost to the company of potential new store locations and initiate the request for data and analysis
Assemble and prepare materials required for potential new site locations to be reviewed by the Real Estate Committee
In the case of leased locations in proposed shopping centers, the Real Estate Representative negotiates a Letter of Intent that spells out the terms of the lease,
In the case of company owned locations, the Rep negotiates the project costs, Expedite development of new stores by communicating with external Real Estate Professionals and resolving unique issues that encumber development.
To resolve these issues the Rep must be creative, resourceful, and very persuasive.
The Rep will communicate with Store Operations at all levels (VP, OD, DM & SM) regarding Real Estate Issues, Communicate and negotiate with the Landlords of existing store locations to facilitate expansions and unique issue resolution.The Rep also regularly communicates with Food Lion Attorneys and outside legal council on real estate issues. Such negotiations require skills and knowledge of legal documents and procedures.
The Rep will also represent the company, distribute literature, and communicate our message to real estate investors and the development community at local, regional and national functions. 60 % travel time, some overnights, and occasional weekends.

REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS degree in related field, 4-5 years experience in commercial real estate engaged in site selection, financial calculations, and retail lease negotiations, Market and site analysis experience. ExperiencePreferred: Legal Background.
