JOB SUMMARY
Oversees the strategy, planning and implementation of Registered Nurse recruitment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES
•Partner with Nursing Leadership to identify the needs and culture within each department and shift.
•Coordinates recruitment strategy based on customer needs, budget and available target population.
•Develops and maintains a database of candidates. Conducts screening interviews and makes recommendations regarding next step (additional interview, job offer, etc.)
•Reviews and prioritizes applications and resumes with timely forwarding of screened applicants.
•Research and document the effectiveness of various recruitment strategies. Callaborates with Hospital Management to enhance recruitment programs and employment services of the Hospital.
•Create and maintain a recruiting presence within the nursing community, to include, but not limited to: colleges, internet, mass mailing, international nurses, military.
•Create a nursing recruitment strategy one year in advance.
•Facilitate a partnership with local universities to ensure that St. Mary’s of Michigan is respected and has a positive working relationship with each Dean of Nursing.
•Create a recruiting presence in local high schools to encourage students who excel in science and math to become nurses.
•Administer advertising budget, and in conjunction with Planning and Marketing, create ads that brand St. Mary’s as a Best Place to Work.
•Follow up on all nursing resignations and personally conduct nursing exit interviews.
•Responsible to prepare and maintain statistical data and reports related to nursing recruitment.
•Perform all other duties as assigned or requested by authorized persons.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master’s degree preferred. Current Michigan RN license.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5yrs clinical experience in acute care nursing and exposure to HR policies, procedures, and organizational development through management or other support role.
