The tradition of caring which culminated in the establishment of Corona Regional Medical Center began in 1933, with the founding of Corona Community Hospital. Since that time the hospital has changed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing community. In 1992 Corona Community Hospital merged with Circle City Medical Center, and the resulting entity became Corona Regional Medical Center. Position Summary The RN Lactation Specialist is accountable for maintaining knowledge and skills essential to performance of stated behaviors and is accountable to the Maternal Child Health Director for overall work performance. The RN Lactation Specialist is skilled in assessment, planning implementation and evaluation to assist the breastfeeding mother to attain her individual goals.
Position Requirements Current California R.N. License required. A minimum of one year of experience in counseling breastfeeding mothers. Certification from a lactation program, that requires clinical hours (not a lactation counseling program). Current B.C.L.S. certificate required.
