Quality Assurance Automated Engineer

Gelco Information Network is a leading provider of comprehensive outsourced services for travel expense management and trade promotion management solutions for consumer goods manufacturers. Gelco has an immediate opening for an Automated Engineer at our Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN.

Position Purpose:

To provide test automation for web products using WinRunner and Silk Performer tools to script development, script execution, and analysis. To report the results, defects, and progress to appropriate people. (QA Leads, QA Manager, Project Team members or other areas of the company.) When needed, assist in the role of QA Analyst or Project Lead on selected projects.


Major Responsibilities of Position:

70%For both Regression testing and Performance testing needs, provide support for the automated testing tool which will include: automation estimates per project; create automation test strategy and plan documents per project; develop, maintain, and execute test scripts for both regression testing and performance testing; provide test result reports to QA Leads, QA Manager and other appropriate Project Team members; provide issue and defect reporting to appropriate Project Team members.

10% Execute and provide team with results of testing (smoke test and performance tests) as needed for daily builds, twice a month deployments and quarterly point releases.

5%Provide Administration services for the test tools including: version control of testing tools and test scripts; creation and maintenance of automation standards documents; evaluate the test tools’ upgrades; creation and maintenance of installation documents; perform the installations or upgrades of the test tools. Provide training for the tools, determine the environmental and tool settings for each project, and troubleshoot as necessary.

5%Determine automation test requirements from requirement documents.

5%Train coworkers to assist or backup Automated Test Engineer.

5%Perform all other duties as assigned.

Decision Making Authority:

Providing recommendations to the QA Manager/Senior Analyst on automation direction.

Leadership:

Will provide leadership in the form of mentoring coworkers or back up Automation Test Engineers.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education:
?Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or MIS or equivalent experience.

Experience
?3-5 years of experience with Mercury WinRunner regression testing tool, and or Seque – Silk Performer automated testing tools or other automation tools with understanding of C++.
?Experience with Seque SilkPerformer tool.
?Strong oral and written communication skills required.
?Must be analytical and detailed oriented with strong organization skills.
?Understand automation practices and when to apply them.
?Knowledge of Internet development technologies a plus.
?Trade promotion business knowledge a plus.
