Project Coordinator/ Estimator

A TURBINE COMPANY IN THE CHANNELVIEW AREA IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A PROJECT COORDINATOR/ ESTIMATOR
*Accountable for coordinating and issuing drawings and specifications to the shop and ordering material for specifically assigned projects.
*Responsible for estimating construction costs of projects and change orders.

***The primary function of this position is to prepare firm and budget estimates of projects such as pipe valve skids, process skids and single lift modules. Has direct responsibility for monitoring project cost to budget and advise management of schedule impacts. Reviews material take-off and cut sheets, prepare by the drawing department and prepares material requisition. Coordinates with assigned Project Foremen to assure effective utilization of workforce relative to the project. Interfaces with certain other company departments, subcontractors, and Construction Services Engineering and Customer Services at Solar Turbines to achieve product quality and timely delivery. This position is also responsible for tracking and estimating the cost of change orders.
REQUIREMENTS
*Plan, establish and assure effective operations within assigned project to meet an established scheduled and project budget, as well as emergency, late definition or special customer requirements.
*Prepare material, labor and subcontract estimates for new projects.
*Prepare cost and schedule impacts of change orders.
*Monitor cost of project.
*Prepare written proposals.
*Complete and ship project to the quality of the specifications and customer approval.
*Estimates construction cost of projects.

***Background would include formal or on the job training or experience in cost control and estimating. Specific knowledge of drawing interpretation, specifications and materials is necessary. Requires working knowledge of fabrication and any drafting experience, engineering and design knowledge is a plus.
