Predictability and accuracy of business and financial results is paramount in business today. Executives must successfully manage major strategic and operational initiatives to accomplish their goals. Ernst & Young provides a broad range of risk based advisory services including Program Risk Advisory (PRA). Over time, we have built the PRA practice to assist our clients in proactively identifying and managing risks in programs and individual projects. PRA assists organizations by providing independent verification of the state of mission critical business and IT programs and initiatives (Growth or Operational Excellence). Additionally the PRA team assists organizations with designing and implementing the governance programs necessary for ongoing decision making and risk management that leads to success. Our team provides fact-based advice to senior executives in five strategic areas: Independent Project and Program Review (IPR) Independent Program Management Office (PMO) Investment Governance and Portfolio Management Strategic Sourcing Risk Advisory Expert Witness Services We are currently seeking a Manager who will be responsible for leading projects or elements of multiple client engagements including service delivery and sales generation along with other related activities in the PRA service line. This professional will manage engagement teams and provide project governance and technical leadership in the analysis, design and implementation of complete project risk reduction approaches, addressing areas such as: Project complexity factors and governance pre-planning alignment Project formation and launch Execution controls and performance monitoring Pre-implementation readiness assessments Post implementation analysis Project risk management planning and implementation Advisement on the acceleration of a client Program Management Office (PMO) Advisement on the development and maintenance of Project Management policies, standards, guidelines and processes related to management and operations of a PMO Determining approaches for project portfolios and sourcing strategies Sourcing strategy and project tradeoff decision frameworks Sales and relationship management Identifying, analyzing, and evaluating project and program risk factors. Responsibilities: Work with the team and the client to create plans for accomplishing engagement objectives and a strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses the risks inherent in the engagement. Brief the team on the client's project/IT environment and industry project/IT trends. Maintain relationships with client management to manage expectations of service, including work products, timing, and the value to be delivered. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex project/information systems and apply it to client situations. Use extensive knowledge of the client's business/industry to identify risk or systems developments and evaluate impacts on the client's business. Demonstrate excellent project management skills, inspire teamwork and responsibility with engagement team members, and use current technology/tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services. Understand E&Y and its service lines and actively assess what the firm can deliver to bring value to clients. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify for this highly visible position with excellent career advancement potential for the right professional, candidates must have at least 10-12 years experience that encompasses the following: Directly managing at least multi-million dollar projects, or subsections of large/complex projects Direct experience in leading/managing full lifecycle projects Experience in project risk management Relationship management and business development experience Ability to perform critical analysis of large complex programs/projects Ability to perform feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses Ability to effectively interview and interact with project executive sponsors, project team and external consultants Effective presentation skills Working understanding of risk management Demonstrated integrity within a professional environment Master of Science degree in Computer Science or Engineering or a Business Degree with a minor in Computer Systems or Engineering Certified, or pursuing certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) Ability to travel (including potential overseas travel)
