Program Manager

The Software Giant in Redmond, Washington is seeking a Program Manager. The primary responsibility of this entry level Finance & Business Metrics PM is to provide direct support to CIS's Business Manager in the area of financial management and analysis including budget tracking, forecasting and fiscal reporting. The PM will also work with the Business Manager to coordinate the integration of key metrics into the CIS Scorecard and help drive automation of the scorecard process. The successful candidate must have strong financial management skills, as well as a demonstrated background in cross organizational and cross discipline project management, communications and negotiations. The candidate will also be required to mine and rationalize multiple data sources, but must also have the ability to see beyond the measures and numbers to gain a true understanding of our business.


Job Responsibilities:
Provide operational assistance to Business Manager throughout the fiscal year planning and budgeting process
Engage with CIS Team Budget Owners to drive monthly and quarterly financial close processes
Refine and update standard financial status reports, including:
Purchase Order/Pipeline
Actuals vs. Forecast Variance Analysis (MTD, QTD, YTD etc.)
Team Level
Group Level
Audit and reconcile team & group expenses
Analyze historic actuals vs. forecast data to identify trends and recommend ways to increase forecast accuracy
Analyze resource utilization and spending patterns to identify areas of cost savings
Conduct various ad hoc analysis and reporting requests, as needed
Streamline and document financial management processes and procedures
Manage/maintain CIS Finance website
Collect, interpret and distill sometimes complex data into a consistent and usable format to populate the CIS Scorecard
Drive improvement and automation of the metrics gathering, consolidation and reporting process

Required Skills for this Program Manager position will include:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following functional areas:
Finance
Business Management
Process Improvement
Metrics/Scorecard Management
Minimum of 2 years experience working at the Software Giant
Experience using Microsoft productivity tools: Must be proficient using the Office suite of products, particularly Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and Access
Must have advanced Excel skills (experience using formulas, creating pivot tables, charts & graphs, etc.)
Database experience (Access, SQL) a plus, but not required
Working knowledge of financial processes at the Software Giant
Experience using internal Software Giant finance/business tools, such as:
Calypso
MSMarket
MSInvoice
Knowledge of the Software Giant's development lifecycle desired, but not required
Experience with vendor and/or contracts management desired, but not required
College degree preferred, but not required
