Principal Systems Engineer- SAP Configuration

REQUIRED SKILLS: SAP Configuration Experience, Lrg scale deployment planning.

DESIRED SKILLS: SAP A&D release.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree. Viewed as the most senior authority in discipline.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is for a Principal Systems Engineer working for Lockheed Martin Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) as an SAP configuration consultant, viewed as the most senior authority in discipline. Preferred locations are co-located within a major EIS facility. Successful candidate will be a flexible SAP configuration resource that can be successfully deployed to provide guidance and support in tailoring/configuring SAP to meet Lockheed Martin's business needs. Must be able to analyze Manufacturing and Procurement processes and offer recommendations on how the SAP product can best support and enhance them. Must have ability to create technical documentation such system requirements and configuration specifications describing the configuration strategy and the reasons behind specific configuration decisions.

Acts as the senior technical representative, regardless of functional group, on a program or project. Leads medium to large teams to produce technical deliverables and/or acts successfully as an individual contributor. Applies and develops highly advanced technical concepts and is viewed as an expert within the field. Integrates processes and actions of all technical organizations on program/project into a cohesive engineering management approach. Ensures the Standard Engineering Process is adhered to and that all technical deliverables are compliant with both strategy and policy. Conceptualizes and presents the business value of proposed technologies. Stays current on existing and emerging technologies via research and self study. Plans, estimates and executes enterprise initiatives including trade studies and cost benefit analysis. Coordinates across the matrixed organization to ensure process consistency and oversight. Acts as a consultant to programs and executives across Lockheed Martin.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

= Demonstrated SAP Configuration experience, minimum 2 full implementation cycles

= Demonstrated experience implementing SAP in large-scale enterprise environments

= 15 to 20 years of progressive experience on a wide variety of platforms and solutions

= Ability to team virtually

= Experience following a software lifecycle development such as CMM

= Large scale deployment (go-live) planning;

= Strong leadership and team management/building skills

= Effective communicator both verbal &written, particularly presentations of technical material

= Ability to travel

= Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field


DESIRED SKILLS:

= Experience with configuration of SAP's A&D release

= Familiarity with engineering disciplines such as security, architecture and performance

= Experience with large scale system conversion and interface efforts

= Familiarity with SAP Finance and Hyperion

= Advanced Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or related field



STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION: Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and

supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
