Plant Operations Lead IT Developer / Analyst

Dynamic Lead Developer to architect and develop power plant operations business solutions utilizing the newest .NET, Data warehouse, EAI, and ETL technologies while leading and mentoring in a team environment. A strong focus is required on business knowledge, customer service, requirements definition, and the capability to deliver in aggressive timelines. This position requires the ability to function and communicate with both technology and business arena’s while driving technology projects to completion. Extensive development experience, broad working knowledge of the latest technologies and experience working in a power plant operations environment are required in order to succeed in this position.
REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities
·Support and enhance existing systems web applications, web services, visual studio for office applications, and various point-to-point integrations between 100+ internal and external systems.
·Lead development teams comprised of internal and external resources working on projects of all sizes with a delivery centric focus.
·Work closely with Business Analysts and end user community on discovering/developing detailed Business Requirements, Design, and Test Plans.
·Work with the Plant Operations group to identify and prioritize strategic IT goals.
·Provide technical feedback and evaluation of proposals from Business Analysts
·Design and architect new systems based upon requirements and creating technical specifications for development teams to follow.
·Provide strategic technical direction for new application initiatives by identifying fundamental technology components that will provide common services to multiple applications.
·Provide Tier III 24/7 support for all internally developed applications.
Job Requirements
·Requires a BS in Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education/work experience.
·2+ years experience in an energy related industry (preferably in power generation, power pool, existing ISO/RTO or utility space)
·Knowledge of NERC GADS reporting requirements
·Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, Passport, Mainsaver, JDE EAM, etc.
·Working knowledge of real-time DCS/DAS/SCADA systems such as OSISoft PI, ABB’s Ranger, OSII Monarch, Foxboro, Bailey, Ovation, etc.
·Knowledge of power plant performance characteristics and reporting such as heat rates curves, startup costs, CEMS emissions data, FOR, EFOR, NCF, etc.
·7+ years professional experience as an application developer with strong web application background
·Minimum of 2 years production experience developing in ASP.NET and VB.NET with a deep understanding of the .NET framework.
·Minimum of 5 years experience in Microsoft SQL Server Transact/SQL and 1 year of Oracle PL/SQL development.
·2+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server’s DTS tool. Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.
·Familiarity with data mart, data warehouse, and business intelligent technologies and strategies.
·Understanding and experience with Sarbanes Oxley controls as it applies to development including the necessary checks and validations required to ensure security, data quality, and reliability.
·Experience in designing Enterprise-scale applications.
·Excellent understanding of Object-Oriented Programming
·Excellent skills in relational database design
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer facing interaction, customer service, and presentation.
·Strong leadership and organizational skills including project management and developing project plans.
·A motivated self-starter that is able to work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision.
·Capability to deliver quality business solutions within compressed timelines and delivery dates.

Technical Experience Pluses
·Experience with the Betas and CTP versions of .Net 2.0, ASP.Net 2.0, SQL 2005, or BizTalk 2004
·Familiarity with Cognos product suite
·Familiarity with Informatica product suite.
·MCP, MCAD, MCSD certifications
