Patient Acct Rep/Financial Counselor (5634)

Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Patient Account Representative/Financial Counselor to join our team in Huntington, WV. This individual will be responsible for various components of the billing function within the revenue cycle.Job Responsibilities:

Assist in charge capture and charge entry for physician services

Reconcile entered charges to patient visits and scheduled procedures as needed

Review submitted charges and accounts for accuracy and make any necessary corrections

Prepare and mail claim forms to insurance companies for reimbursement

Respond to and resolve any issues related to insurance claims as they arrive

Answers phones, assisting patients and insurance carriers with their inquiries

Review patient accounts routinely to ensure adherence to billing and payment policies

Prepare monthly patient statements

Research credit balance accounts, preparing carrier and patient refunds as necessary

File daily work and reports as necessary

Perform month end close function and run necessary month end reports

Perform other duties as assigned or requestedRequired Skills:

One year of billing experience, preferably in a healthcare environment

Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Works independently, in a safe and appropriate manner

Demonstrates both problem-solving and problem-prevention skills

Strong time management skills
Works carefully and precisely, with a strong attention to detail

Communicates effectively with internal and external customers (patients, co-workers, physicians, etc)
Maintains good attendance and reports to work on timeMinimum Educational Requirements:
