Outside Property Adjuster

Position Description
This individual will be trained to analyze and produce first reports that establish the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of damage. The candidate will also be expected to follow Chubb contact and service guidelines by promptly contacting insureds; inspecting and documenting damages, meeting with clients or their representatives, promptly and properly developing a file to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis; maintaining and monitoring an active diary to achieve timely development of file and timely disposition of the claim; recognize and pursue recovery where possible; adhere to all statutory regulations and unfair claim practices acts; effectively communicate with all internal and external customers, and must be available to travel outside their territory to assist other offices with catastrophic events.
REQUIREMENTS
Competencies/Tech SkillsCollege Graduate with experience, training or knowledge of construction industry, insurance or property adjusting. Computer literate, knowledge of Lotus Notes, MS Word, MS Excel.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills; customer service orientation; strong analytical and negotiation skills.
Must be able to work with wide spectrum of people. Great entry level Trainee opportunity.Must be able to travel up to 75% for Catastrophe duty (CAT) but typically the adjuster spends most of their time at home.
Training in property claims adjusting; insurance contracts, investigative techniques, legal requirements and regulation. Would develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers. Would learn current construction methods and cost; write own estimates and complete a dwelling and/or commercial building valuation.
