Position Overview
To reduce variable operating cost and increase revenue in Oilseeds Preparation Operations by defining and implementing best engineering practices and supporting and implementing process improvements.
We are building an organization with a worldwide view so this position may be located in a number of different sites worldwide.
Principal Accountabilities
Organize and lead Oilseeds Preparation Center of Expertise (COE) Worldwide effort
Process benchmarking and optimization (e.g. process yield, energy usage, solvent loss, safety, labor,etc.)
Capture, collaborate, communicate, and culturalize best practices and key preparation plant and equipment standard designs
Drive strategic implementation and deployment of preparation plant best practices to minimize duplication of effort and maximize use of best practices.
Advanced troubleshooting in crush plants working with R&D, plant, and tech support.
Process improvements:
Recognize opportunities when visiting plants, equipment manufacturers, exhibitions, etc.
Implement efforts to apply state-of-the-art equipment
Implement efforts to modify existing equipment, tailored to specific needs or opportunities
Perform and implementing efforts in de-bottlenecking studies and projects
Secure optimal integration of processes in terms of mass/energy balance
Communicate achievement and results through appropriate channels, e.g. COE and Best Practices deployed
Develop and teach appropriate educational opportunities to various levels of operating organization.
Implement plant and operation theory, design, and best practices to include not only the "what" but the "why".
Engineering:
Lead efforts in strategic standardized design initiatives for preparation plant area and /or equipment.
Provide engineering support for capital projects (e.g. mass and energy balances, specifications, hazard reviews)
Set-up and maintain a system for specifications and drawings of key preparation equipment
Benchmark projects (on scope versus cost, time, and performance)
Set-up and design best engineering practices
Assist in the development and/or investigation of new preparation plants, area equipment,and technology
Assist in feasibility studies
Assist or lead RCM on high priority preparation equipment maintenance opportunities
Assist in determining 3 year capital plan for Grain and Oilseed Supply Chain Worldwide (noting best practice opportunities)
Organize and implement agreed systems, projects, and engineering
Establish and maintain engineering and process archives
Communicate best practices between sites
Customer Focus:
Will be a champion for crush in area of supporting our customer and engagement in our plants
Position Challenges:
To ensure implementation of process improvements and engineering with local teams with different cultures and backgrounds
Holding people accountable without direct authority.
REQUIREMENTS
Required
Bachelor Degree in engineering or related discipline
3+ years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, and project managementStrong analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and direct people / projects in a cross-functional team
Demonstrated innovation skills in areas of technology, customer, safety, and operational results

Ability to travel up to 50%
Work experience in operating equipment and processes "on the floor"
Desired
Experience in oilseed preparation
Detailed knowledge of engineering associated with oilseed preparation unit operations including: drying, cleaning, cracking, dehulling, conditioning, flaking, sizing, and grinding.
Experience in different processes, business units is an advantage.
Experience on best practic and/or COE teams
Experience writing plant operation manuals and standards, including equipment
