Embedded SW Engineer – 1 Contract position

Description: The incumbent is expected to have the desire to design products from a bioengineering perspective. The ability to work interactively with engineers, clinicians, doctors, and technical support personal is a required competency. Responsibilities include the development, design and documentation of real-time embedded system software, conforming to regulatory requirements, RI quality requirements, and internal hazards requirements, and cost requirements. The incumbent must also have the savvy to balance both technical and business issue, and take a leadership role in ensuring products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, team oriented, and new product development environment. Excellent interpersonal written and oral communication skills are required. REQUIREMENTS


Minimum Requirements: Minimum 2+ years of software engineering experience. Minimum BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering. Experience with real-time embedded software development or distributed process control systems required. Proficiency in C language required. Software engineering lifecycle experience preferred.

Additional Requirements: The following requirements are a plus, but are not required:

· Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) - (Express Logic Thread X a plus)

· Low level interfaces, system testing, debugging and troubleshooting low-level code with an oscilloscope, logic analyzer, or microprocessor debug probe

· Design and implementation of motor control software running on a Digital Signal Processor (DSP), such as the Freescale 56F801

· Design and implementation of digital filters for processing sensor data.
· Sourcing web pages via HTTP/XML is a plus.
· Experience with object oriented design and C++,
· File system management (Experience with File X a plus).
· Networking experience (TCP/IP) (Experience with Net X a plus).
· Graphical User Interface development (Experience with Peg X a plus).
· Experience with MS Visual Source Safe, Telelogic Doors, and Mercury Test Director is a plus.
· Experience in an ISO certified, FDA regulated industry.
