Microsoft .NET Consultant, Defense Sector

BearingPoint, Inc. is one of the world's largest business consulting, systems integration and managed services firm serving Global 2,000 companies, Federal Government agencies, including the Department of Defense, and other organizations.Our Defense practice is working with a large defense agency to update a home grown budget submission tool in Microsoft .NET. We are deploying the tool but it will require modifications and enhancements once testing has been completed. There is also a list of requirements developed by the client that will need to be addressed once version 1 of the tool has been fully accepted.On a daily basis this person will be working with the client to accomplish tasks associated with the requirements developed by the client. This will involve trouble-shooting existing code/functionality, writing new code that addresses new requirements and continuing to enhance reporting capabilities. This position will require daily interaction with the client via email and phone and a monthly face-to-face meeting to deliver the monthly status report and invoice.This is an appealing opportunity because it exposes this individual to a variety of different technologies and challenges. The person working on this project will be utilizing the latest development environment, Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 along with the SQL Server database platform. This person will gain experience in the entire spectrum of skills required in the field of application development.The project is currently being performed by one BE employee who interacts with one govt. employee. We are attempting to obtain additional funding to add a second person to the BE team.This work will be performed in the BearingPoint office in Springfield, VA. There is some travel to the client site located in Crystal City, VA for monthly status reports and testing.The project is currently funded through Feb07 with three more option years.Requirements:

3+ years experience developing object-oriented web applications in C#, ASP.NET using Visual Studio.NET.
Â
3+ years experience coding traditional web applications in ASP 3.0, JavaScript, and HTML.
Â
3+ years experience working with SQL, designing databases, writing stored procedures, and ad-hoc queries using SQL Server.
Â
Experience using traditional office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Â
A minimum of an Undergraduate degree
