•In addition to salary and vacation, 3 weeks of Compensation Credits may be exercised as time off with pay or as supplemental income.
•This position is with the Marion County Health Department in Woodburn, Oregon.
•This recruitment will be used to fill a current vacancy for a position that is union represented.
•This position is overtime eligible and is 37.5 hours per week.

Mental Health Associate – Bilingual (ABH)551-91

These duties are intended only as illustration of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position. Duties and responsibilities are also subject to change by the employer as the needs of the employer and requirements of the job change.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provides services to monolingual Spanish-speaking clients; assists clients at Woodburn and other outlying areas with treatment goals, appointments, Activities of Daily Living (ADL) in the community via skills training and recreational, social skills training in regards to: medication management, treatment flan follow through, health and safety issues and other related issues in the community by active outreach; conducts groups and activities to engage clients and increase their ability to be more self-reliant and recovery-based; encourages and assists clients in their residential and community outreach capacity; performs case management under close supervision to determine client service needs and to obtain resources via outreach as needed; assists Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) with group therapy as needed; completes clinical record documentation in a timely fashion; meets performance expectations for time and billing standards; works with a team of clinicians and supervisor for clinical supervision, treatment planning, team meetings and trainings.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Participates actively as a part of team meeting decisions during team development for service delivery model.

BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS:
Complies with Health Department behavioral expectations, county and department policies and procedures; promotes and contributes to positive departmental relationships based upon the department’s mission, vision and values and interest based decision making; uses technology tools, such as computers and other hardware and software programs, as adopted by the county and the department to conduct and discharge department and service area business and to maintain, collect and report client and service information; provides backup and support to co-workers; wears personal protective equipment when performing job tasks that increase risk of exposure to blood or body fluids; establishes and maintains professional and effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and other agencies; maintains punctual and regular attendance; complies with department and county policies, procedures and regulations; participates fully as a member of a team; participates fully as support to a service area(s); participates in employee training and orientation; provides training to co-workers as requested; maintains licenses/credentials as required; performs other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Operates a motor vehicle in the performance of duties; maintains a current Oregon driver’s license and an acceptable driving record; stands; sits for up to ˝ hour; moves around in the work area; climbs 1 flight of stairs; lifts up to 5 pounds; carries up to 5 pounds; operates a keyboard; speaks clearly and audibly; sees using depth perception; hears normal levels of speech; works in uneven areas; works in areas that may be exposed to strong odors or chemicals.

REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: It is imperative that applicants include, on the application form, details of education, skills and experience as they pertain to the qualifications shown below.

1.Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Education with an emphasis in counseling, or a related behavioral science field; OR
2.Associate’s degree in behavioral science field and one (1) year work experience in behavioral health services field; OR
3.Three (3) years work experience in a behavioral health services field; OR
4.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience relevant to the position.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

•Ability to be credentialed as a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA).
•This position provides interpretation services to monolingual Spanish-speaking clients; therefore, fluent bilingual Spanish/English skills are required. An additional 5% will be added to the hourly wage as compensation for this skill. Finalist will be required to pass a Standardized Spanish Fluency Assessment as part of the hiring process.
•Must possess a current driver’s license in the applicant’s state of residence and an acceptable driving history. Driver’s license number(s) and state(s) in which they were issued, during the last 5 years, must be included on the application form in order to qualify for the position. Marion County will obtain a copy of the driving record for all qualified applicants from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
•Work Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Work schedule determined based on the needs of the department.
•It is a Marion County Health Department policy that a criminal history background check be conducted on all new employees.
•The final candidate(s) selected for this recruitment may be required to pass a drug screen.
