Mechanical Design Engineer

Purpose: One of Silicon Valley?s most promising startups is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its world class team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

-Design of large assembly modules for current and future products.
-Utilize engineering knowledge to provide solution to challenging design problem.
-Source off the shelf components to be used in technical designs.
-Create and manage SolidWorks CAD models, drawings and assemblies.
-Manage Top level assemblies in a Windchill PDM system.
-Control Drawing and Model release through an ECO process.
-Work with a development team to relay design and engineering intent.


Skills Required:

-Strong understanding of engineering principles.
-Strong understanding of sheet metal, machining and welding techniques.
-Strong understanding of thermal management.
-Ability to rapidly understand existing mechanisms and visualize improvements.
-Excellent communication skills
-Highly motivated and a self-starter.


Education and Experience:

-BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Minimum of 3-years of working experience with proven track record required.
-Minimum of 3-years of CAD Modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred) with large assemblies (600 parts or more).
-Experience with FEA and Thermal design software.
-Experience with one or more PDM systems.
-Experience with typical components used for gas processing: mass flow controllers, ventilation fans, liquid pumps, and valves.
