Job Summary:
The Masters Level Clinician for Jail Based Services is responsible for direct and indirect Jail Mental Health Services provided by the Helen Ross McNabb Center.Job Responsibilities:
Maintaining working relations with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department and other related corrections agencies and individuals.Maintaining Corrections/Jail Mental Health Services by providing direct services to the Knox Count Sheriff’s Department in providing new inmates with a comprehensive mental health assessment of current mental status, medication consultation, suicidal and violence potential, review of available psychiatric and addiction records, review of medication history, development and implementation of treatment plan that includes diagnosis, recommendations for housing, job assignments and program participation. This position will provide these services to all new inmates who are identified as having mental health problems.

A Masters degree from an accredited school of Social Work; and Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Experience:
Prior experience in individual and group therapy and some experience with substance abuse treatment/services. Knowledge and experience in community services and advocacy. Prior experience in the criminal justice/corrections field is helpful.Skills:
Clinical skills in the area of mental health, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, community resources and A&D assessment. Skills to maintain good relationships with related agencies in the community and with TDMHMR. Knowledge of good boundaries in working with inmates and defendants.
