Market Research Survey Analyst

The Research Analyst contributes major segments of study design; develops surveys; reviews and abstracts published literature and other written materials; holds semi-structured or structured interviews/discussions with experts and key constituents to gather information; oversees coding definitions of data elements; cleans and troubleshoots resulting data; analyzes data; creates charts and tables for inclusion in reports; summarizes findings and their significance; writes reports; and plans and supervises activities on a project.

1.0Consults and advises on major segments of study design.

Performance Expectations
1.1Participates in the development of new projects by writing or assisting with proposals.
1.2Involved in the meetings with new and former clients to help determine research/data needs.
1.3Identifies key variables for measurement.
1.4Drafts statistical models to meet project objectives.
1.5Helps refine scope of work by finalizing evaluation questions and designs.
1.6Facilitates meetings and transcribes notes.
1.7Communicates via phone or e-mail to clients, as appropriate.
1.8Conducts key constituent interviews, focus groups or observations, or coordinates other resources to do so.

2.0Provides data to support client objectives as outlined in the proposal/contract.

Performance Expectations
2.1Coordinates collection of data, including launch, cleaning and verification.
2.2Helps finalize data analysis requests according to scope of project.
2.3Synthesizes multiple kinds of data to produce summaries/key findings.
2.4Reviews and abstracts published literature and other written materials to support data findings.
2.5Makes marketing/sales recommendations (products, next logical research) based on data.

3.0Accountable for maintaining data integrity in compliance with all security policies and procedures as well as state and federal regulations.

Performance Expectations
3.1Responsible for overseeing the quality of the data being fed into the master database.
3.2Maintains quality assurance protocols for all projects conducted.
3.3Maintains data integrity at all times and ensures that the analysis and reports generated are complete and accurate, in accordance with established expectations, guidelines, policies and procedures.
3.4Responsible for troubleshooting resulting data.
3.5Participates in department performance improvement activities on an ongoing basis

4.0Responsible for producing reports including key findings and implications.

4.1Drafts evaluation reports and summaries, including visual charts.
4.2Creates presentations to meet client expectations.
4.3Assists in providing oral presentations to clients.
4.4Keeps accurate, up-to-date logs of all reports and development activity.

5.0Trains support staff on internal processes.

Performance Expectations
5.1Serves as department resource for research process including user training and back-up support.
5.2Maintains research and training manuals.
REQUIREMENTS
Marketing/business background. Working knowledge of statistics and research methodologies. Demonstrated experience with SPSS/SAS, PowerPoint or other graphical package, Access or other database software, Excel or other spreadsheet software.
