Litigation Counsel

Business Unit: GE HealthcareFunction: LegalResponsibilities: The Intellectual Property/Commercial Litigation Counsel will be primarily responsible for providing legal leadership and case management for GE Healthcare's significant intellectual property and commercial litigation practice.Responsibilities include:
Managing significant patent litigation matters across GE Healtchare P&L's
Working directly with GE Healthcare Licensing Program in providing litigation support for licensing and other enforcement opportunities
Managing outside counsel in evaluating and implementing proposed case strategies
Work with Chief Litigation Counsel to implement litigation prevention and Early Dispute Resolution Programs across all P&L's
Manage large and diverse commercial litigation caseload across all P&L's
Generally applying combined business and legal judgment to all legal disputes
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: -JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership
Minimum 6 years of significant patent litigation experience
Commercial litigation experience
Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.
Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
Prior experience using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
Strong working knowledge of English language (oral and written)
Must be willing to take a drug test
Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Princeton or Piscataway, New Jersey OR Waukesha, Wisconsin
Willingness to travel extensively both within the Unites States and internationallyDesired: -Significant patent litigation experience in Biosciences and/or healthcare technologies related field.
Previous exposure to medical industry regulations (FDA, Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback) a plus
Ability to work independently and communicate clearly and directly with senior Management on highly sensitive intellectual property and commercial matters
Ability to function as an integral member of the GEHC global legal function
Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
