Responsibilities:

The Lead Systems Engineer will be responsible for engineering and managing system level requirements database for a major program.

Perform the initial planning to incorporate information assurance requirements including assisting with establishing schedule and budget, perform requirement analysis and system design.

Successful systems engineer will:
Construct system level requirements structure based on customer’s interface specification document and statement of work (SOW).
Conduct requirements goodness analysis, provide bidirectional traceability links to derived work products.
Decompose requirements to lower level requirements and specifications for Hardware, Software and Test Engineering.
Analyze impacts to program from initial product requirements and subsequent requirement changes.
Negotiate with external customers on initial product requirements and subsequent requirement changes.
Prepare Basis of Estimates (BOE) for program proposals.
Provide technical leadership to the program team on subject matters.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills:

The Lead Systems Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline with at least 8 years applicable experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 6 years applicable experience which includes:
Using requirements management tool DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System).
Producing clear requirements that are quantifiable and testable.
Prior hardware, software or firmware working experience in design or testing embedded systems.

Team leadership experience needed.

Knowledge of DoD directive 8500.1 and/or 8500.2 (Information Assurance Directive).

Due to the work performed, U.S. citizenship and the ability to be granted access to classified information is required.

This is a contract or direct hire position.


Additional requirement for a qualified Lead Systems Design Engineer with domain expertise in Signal Processing experience with hardware and software systems. Candidate will technically support and/or lead the design and development activities of a multi-disciplinary team of systems, hardware, software, and test engineers in the development of state-of-the-art digital signal processing algorithms. Candidates will perform analysis and design trades, develop design concepts and develop innovative signal processing algorithms, verify the designs/algorithms, and transition the designs/algorithms to hardware or software implementations.
