Lead Consultant for Enterprise Software Systems

Drive the innovative development of complex enterprise software systems through the application of emerging software engineering concepts from research, industry and academia. Evaluate software architecture and design with focus on software performance including requirements, algorithms, functionality, process and workflow. Lead the research of software engineering topics and conceptual prototyping activities. Apply strong analytical skills to evaluate complex systems, support software refactoring efforts and recommend software design/architecture changes to improve system and enterprise performance. Provide technical leadership of small interdisciplinary teams. Apply business and management skills to develop a Software Engineering work program that supports synergy between other communities of practice: Integration Technology and Workflow, Data Engineering, Performance Engineering and Software Systems Engineering.Job Requirements
o Master of Software Engineering, Computer Science or relevant Masters level technical degree and 7 to 10 years relevant Software Engineering experience.
o Knowledge of Software Engineering from the software fundamentals of requirements , modeling, architectures, analysis, and management as well as prominent software engineering concepts emerging from research, industry and academia.
o Extensive knowledge of enterprise software engineering tools, processes and best practices.
o Strong written and oral communication skills
o Experience developing software using modern object-oriented methods (RUP/UML) and tools (ie. Rational Rose, Systems Architect, Rhapsody).
o Experience with Service Oriented Architectures with extensive experience in design and development of .NET and/or J2EE applications. Experience deploying applications with .Net or J2EE platforms (WebSphere, WebLogic, etc).
o Understanding of DOD architecture framework and acquisition processes.
o Consulting expertise including requirements definition and refinement.
o Development and management of Software risk and quality metrics.
o Software engineering process.
o Architecture analysis, design and review.
o Experience working within a full life cycle development methodology (Agile programming, Extreme Programming, Unified Process).
o Understanding of Capability Maturity Models (CMM and CMM Integrated CMMI).
