Integration Consultant
Description:
Work as a member of the client’s/vendor’s integration team to design, develop and test interfaces, including but not limited to, Cardiology/Radiology/ Hospital/Clinical information systems, utilizing HL-7/DICOM/IHE and other standards to optimize administrative information and image data flow for each deployment’s workflow.
Consult on the integration of various Hospital IT systems into a HIS/RIS/ PACS/EMR or other imaging and information product.
Analyze customer requirements, design solutions, form cross-functional teams, and successfully drive to closure custom and standard integration solutions.
Participate in departmental and project team meetings with client. Provide input, solutions and recommendations.
Define the scope documents, evaluate integration, and work with team, customer and vendors and create a detailed work plan. Perform analysis of interface requirements, discuss and evaluate Interface solution with customer.
Develop/code/verify the interfaces to information and imaging systems using HL-7 and DICOM standards on products such as IDX® ConnectR, Agfa® Broker, Quovadx® CloverLeaf, SeeBeyond® eGate, OrionHealth®, NeoIntegrate, Microsoft® BizTalk Server, McKesson® SDXS.
Optimize data flow for each customer's workflow.
Interfacing and workflow project for each customer, interface verification, interface configuration management, testing and validation, existing data flow optimization to customer, and related documentation.
Work with team members to identify and resolve customer satisfaction issues related to integration.
Lead the development and improvement of interface tools, products, implementation processes and services offerings.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
BS in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent mix of education and system integration experience.
3 years experience in technical/engineering role including integration/interface responsibility.
2 years experience in project leadership roles with emphasis on integration.
Experienced in use and applicability of HL-7 and DICOM standards.
Experienced in use and applicability of the IHE Guidelines and Integration Profiles.
Experienced with DICOM connectivity of modalities.
Demonstrated proficiency with all aspects of the integration process, including communication, requirements, design, implementation, documentation and unit testing.
Working knowledge of clinical workflow.
Experience with PACS Systems and related radiology workflow.
Develop technical specifications, review and develop HL7 interfaces, plus perform testing and document interface issues.
4-5 years experience with Hospital/Radiology/Cardiology/Clinical Information System related work on HL7 Interfaces and integration. Knowledge in complete workflow of Radiology Information System and PACS is strongly recommended.
Experience in working with multiple RIS vendors such as GE, McKesson, IDX, CERNER/ADAC, Siemens/SMS, Meditech, etc. and other interface engines such as Data Gate, eGate, Cloverleaf, Agfa/Mitra PACS Broker, Connect R, etc.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with customer and vendors.
Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of software, Visio and Project.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and project management skills.
Must be very organized and capable of multi-tasking.
Demonstrated success in working directly with customers, vendors, and leading cross-functional teams
Practical experience implementing systems that conform to the Health Level Seven (HL7) healthcare interface standard.
Experience with multiple interface engine providers including Cloverleaf, eGate and Datagate.
Domain knowledge of the healthcare industry, particularly healthcare IT organizations.
Experience developing or maintaining either batch or transaction oriented interfaces.
Excellent communication skills - ability to interface and influence at multiple organization levels.
Experience with information systems integration.
Unique Working Conditions:
Extensive Travel Required – 80+%.
