Instructional Designer/Scriptwriter

Defense Training and Technologies, DT2, provides leading edge technology training solutions to defense organizations worldwide. From web delivered multimedia instruction, to distributed collaborative simulation and gaming solutions, DT2 produces training products that directly improve mission performance. Our research group is constantly developing new training approaches that will provide more immersive, operationally-current training wherever and whenever it is required.

Basic Function:

To create initial, intermediate, and final training design documents, and manage projects to on-time completion within budget and to client specifications.

Essential Job Results:
1. Independent development of client-focused training to meet productivity goals, project specifications and client satisfaction measures; design, create, edit, proofread, manage client approval, and supervise production quality.
2. Provision of clients with credible, demonstrated expertise in instructional design principles, thereby assisting in course analyses and user interface selections, selection and improvement of design tools, and constructive interface with content SMEs.
3. Synthesis of client needs into well developed, systematically crafted, and thoroughly executed business solutions.
4. Development of all facets of high level training materials, companion audio and computer components, working with DT2 staff.
5. Participation in the creative instructional development process with other development staff and regional managers.
6. Securing of outside (written or consulting) resources of other information and research as necessary to ensure excellence of content at either the proposal development or the writing stages.
REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s Degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science or Training-related field
•demonstrated expertise and competence in instructional design and writing and adult education principles
•ability to synthesize client needs to initiate appropriate design processes
•ability to write high level complex training programs from design to execution
•ability to develop client training materials from basic research and secondary resource materials
•ability to develop or enhance one additional competency area, such as project coordination, data analysis, video production, and advanced business analysis or marketing, etc.
