IT Project Coordinator
The IT Project Coordinator assists IT Project Managers, manages small project teams, and performs a broad range of support activities to facilitate the effective execution and management of IT projects within the constraints of: scope, quality, time and cost. The Project Coordinator applies knowledge of project objectives and the roles and responsibilities of all team members to successfully coordinate project activities and ensure the timely delivery of project milestones. Specific tasks and duties include:
Work with IT Project Managers to create detailed project plans, organize various aspects of projects over the entire system development life cycle, and coordinate with internal business customers, IT department contacts, project team members, service providers, and others as appropriate to define and execute project requirements.
Coordinate project team and stakeholder meetings and create and maintain documentation to support project activities and deliverables.
Regularly contact and examine contributions by project stakeholders through all phases of projects and assist IT Project Managers in tracking project progress, costs, updating project plans and develop and distribute status reports.
Work within established project policies and guidelines to contribute specific results towards the overall project effort.Qualifications
MUST have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Accounting/Finance, Information Technology, Management or Information Systems or equivalent background from academic and professional education and experience; advanced degree and/or PMP certification are highly desirable. MUST have 1 year of stable, progressive experience coordinating projects in a corporate, enterprise IT or Information Services environment with relevant entry-level training in project management and project technology; project management experience is a plus. MUST demonstrate understanding of current technologies and methodologies to plan and communicate effectively with project team and sponsors including proficiency from experience with MS Office tools; experience with MS Project or other project management tool is strongly preferred. MUST have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current infrastructure technology and the software development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management. MUST have analytical ability sufficient to understand user requirements and translate them into technical terms, to develop quantitative status reports, and to identify and quantify issues and risks. MUST demonstrate the ability to effectively interface with all levels of staff and management with exceptional verbal communication skills sufficient to explain business needs to technical personnel and technical information to users, and written communication skills sufficient to create technical specifications, project plans and other project documentation are critical. MUST have strong organizational skills with a high level of energy and accountability as well as the ability to take initiative and work with little supervision, as part of at team as well as independently. MUST have the ability to work across departmental boundaries with diplomacy and persuasion and the ability to find common ground and resolution; strong interpersonal skills are critical. MUST have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under tight deadlines while coordinating several projects at a time while dealing with rapidly changing business and technical needs and conditions.
