IT Architect / .NET Developer
Burns & McDonnell, a premiere provider of engineering, architectural, environmental and business consulting services since 1898 is looking for a Lead Architect / .Net Developer to join our World Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri.
The successful candidate will have experience with the full life cycle of developing software in one or more of the development models: waterfall, agile, or extreme. The candidate should be familiar with a number of development environments and languages beyond the .Net environment. Additionally, he or she will be comfortable working in an environment where teams are fluid and multi-tasking is the order of the day.
- Ability to fill the role of technical lead and deliver a project from concept through deployment.
- Ability to perform an impact analysis and provide levels of effort for proposed changes to the architecture of an application.
- Ability to produce or oversee the production of technical requirements, architecture and design deliverables, development and implementation of complete .Net solutions.
- Ability to mentor other team members.
- Strong personal desire to stay up on current technologies.
- Knowledge of object oriented architectures and patterns, systems analysis, software design, effective coding practices.
- Ability to capture and document user requirements from clients.
- Ability to create UML diagrams.
- Experience writing unit tests.
- Ability to code in Visual Studio.NET, C#, ASP.NET, Visual Basic, JavaScript, HTML/DHTML/CSS or XML/XSLT.
- Experience in developing database applications.
REQUIREMENTS
In addition to the above requirements, qualified candidates must have a BS in Computer Science or related field in addition to at least 5 years of applicable experience. MS in Computer Science and MCSD certification preferred.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience with Oracle and SQL Server as well as familiarity with Open Source tools a plus. Must be flexible and willing to travel up to 10%.
