Position requires a strong working knowledge in the following technology areas: IP Telephony, Content Distribution (CDN), Cisco MeetingPlace, IP Contact Center and Video Switching.
The candidate will be responsible for the engineering design, development, implementation and deployment of end-to-end systems for all voice, video and content distribution applications across UnitedHealth Groups enterprise network.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for design, development, testing, implementation, and support of network based voice and content distribution systems infrastructure.
-Define standards, guidelines, best practices and metrics.
-Research, design and recommend platforms and strategies
-Recommend new/different technologies based on changing business environment & opportunities
-Provide advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis and resolution
-Provide system administration and support
-Coordinate with customers and vendors in the development and deployment of new applications
-Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
-Must be capable of coordinating multiple tasks and projects at one time
-Participate in development and maintenance of network systems infrastructure.
-Provide integrated systems planning.
-Ensure consistency of tools, standards & metrics.
Job Requirements:
3+ IP Telephony engineering design and support along with data networking experience are required. Cisco IP telephony expertise will be needed. Cisco certification is highly preferred, with MCSE certification helpful. Cisco Meeting Place, CDN and/or Windows NT or 2000 server experience and SQL knowledge would be a plus.
10+ years overall experience in the IT Networking industry with particular focus in voice services. Must be experienced in project management and the coordination of multiple projects and tasks at the same time.

Understanding Business requirements and recommending appropriate solutions.
Developing and supporting IP telephony architectures and networking technologies.
Designing and implementing network based application technology in an enterprise environment.
Understanding and managing complex interrelationships with all software and hardware deployed in an IP Telephony, CDN and Conferencing environment.
Coordination of multiple vendors and organizations to quickly resolve service affecting problems.
Independently troubleshooting and resolving service affecting issues. Demonstrate innovation in mitigating and resolving issues.
Ability to define initial approaches to implement strategy.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Good consultative and communications skills.
