Deloitte's Total Rewards group addresses the business strategy, corporate culture, and global alignment of employee benefit programs. We provide design, delivery, and performance improvement solutions to purchasers, providers, and administrators of employee benefits. Our approach
includes technical expertise in retirement, health care, benefits, compensation, communications, and tax.
Deloitte Consulting is looking for a healthcare and benefits consultant to serve in a Consultant level position in the Total Rewards practice of Deloitte's Human Capital group in Minneapolis, MN. In this position, the candidate will serve as a team member in providing strategic and technical employee benefit consulting services to employers.
A representative sample of a Consultant's job responsibilities
- Prepare employee benefit program diagnostic and financial impact report
- Collect, input, manage and analyze data
- Conduct research and summarize findings
- Prepare and manage vendor request for proposals
- Prepare employee benefit plan financial projections and COBRA rate development
- Review health plan performance, including reviewing and negotiating policy year settlements and premium rate/administrative fee vendor renewals
- Prepare
client presentations and reports, and attend client meetings
- Assist with development of proposals to potential clients
- Conduct other general health & welfare consulting activities, as required
In addition to serving plan sponsors, other project work can include working with payers and providers in such projects as HMO risk and value analysis, provider network development, operational reviews, etc.
Requirements of the ideal candidate
- Knowledge and understanding of health care delivery and plan design, as well as other welfare benefit plans (e.g., life, disability, dental, etc.)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and technical skills
- Ability to work well in team-based environment and independently
- Results oriented and well-organized with the ability to handle multiple projects/clients simultaneously in a demanding work environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to client
service excellence
- Demonstrated professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to travel and flexibility to periodically serve out of town clients for an extended period of time
- Proficiency with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Project
Education and Experience
- Minimum BA/BS degree in related field
