HIM Practice Director (4527)

Thought leader and subject matter expert in HIM

P&L Responsibility for all operational aspects of HIM consulting group including operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and personnel scheduling to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. Work with financial coordinator to develop, monitor, and update forecasts and budgets. Set hiring and training goals.

Lead in HIM sales development process with prospective clients

Participate in HIM outsourcing sales process with prospective clients

Develop proposals and contracts; coordinate proposals and contracts with Nashville office

Ability to create and define new and/or revised HIM practice methodologies

Act as a change agent externally and internally

Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and mentoring HIM consultants

Review consultants' reports and provide feedback

Conduct in-depth operational assessments of HIM departments

Perform consultant's tasks when internal resources are not available

Develop presentations to organizations such as AHIMA, HFMA, and HIMSSRequired Experience / Background:

10+ years HIM management, operational, and consulting experience with the ability to multi-task. RHIA/RHIT preferred.

Expert in all aspects of HIM functions, regulatory compliance (e.g., JCAHO, CMS), and HIPAA.

Strong understanding and/or experience with the hybrid medical record and electronic medical record

Knowledge of the revenue cycle and HIM impact on the revenue cycle

Strong oral and written skills required with the ability to give presentations to large and small groups including the C-suite.

Excellent planning and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects with rapidly changing priorities and/or deadlines. Computer proficient.
