(www.pirnie.com), is seeking to hire an experienced GIS Programmer/Analyst as part of the core GIS development team in Akron Ohio. We are looking for an individual with a strong work ethic and who has the ability to work and communicate with all levels of clients and associates.RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Install, configure and administer ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server or ArcIMS software on Malcolm Pirnie or client servers.
2.Interview users to gather user requirements.
3.Develop and communicate technical specification documents.
4.Write, test and document code according to technical specifications.
5.Develop training materials (how to guides, slides, help files, etc.).
6.Conduct end users and system administrators training.
7.Ability to travel up to 50% within the U.S
8.Develop monthly verbal and written progress reportsEEO
REQUIREMENTS
Five years of development experience with ESRI's ArcObjects for ArcGIS 9.x and experience administering and customizing ArcIMS is required. The candidate should have proficiency programming for desktop and web environments using any of the following: ASP.NET, VB, VB.NET, C#, Java, JavaScript, XML and HTML. ColdFusion experience would be considered a strong plus. This position requires experience with database design and administration within ArcSDE Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle environments and MS Access personal geodatabases.Experience with survey quality GPS field data capture and post processing or experience working for a wastewater utility company in the realm of asset management and condition assessment would be considered a strong plus.The candidate should have the ability to follow directions, learn quickly, pay attention to detail, work with minimal supervision, to independently identify and solve problems, and possess strong written and verbal communication skills.EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Engineering or equivalent work experience.EEO
