FULL-TIME MARKETING/SALES ASSISTANT

We are seeking an energetic individual who possesses strong marketing, graphic design/writing skills to creatively promote accounting products nationwide. Sales lead data entry/management and light sales assistance also required. Working under the project leadership of the Marketing Manager, the Assistant will develop initial concepts and refined design iterations for marketing and promotional projects in addition to the prerequisite department duties. Specific Descriptions:
• Conceptualizes, designs, and produces a wide range of specialized graphic and/or illustrative material against the set strategic brief.
• Must be able to design creative ads and copy.
• Assist Marketing Manager with desktop publishing and marketing plan support, identifying market trends, issues and competitive environment and assist with the formation of strategic plans for product marketing.
• Assist with evaluating the needs of resellers on a national basis and recommend marketing strategies.
• Assist with evaluating the needs of customers on a national basis and recommend marketing strategies.
• Actively participate in marketing development efforts. Facilitate this effort by working effectively with graphic design, market communications, customer relations, etc.
• Maintain marketing expenses and budget records.
• Develop and maintain a high level of product category knowledge through staying current in published information, national market contacts and industry gatherings.
• Assist Executive Sales Consultant and VP of Sales & Marketing.
• Work closely with Sales Staff to ensure all proper information is provided for products.
• Assist Sales Staff by completing light sales calls.
• Assist Sales Staff by attending trade shows when necessary.
• Maintain, in conjunction with Sales Staff, all current market share database information and update database when new data becomes available.
• Assist in answering product questions from resellers, leads and customers pertaining to product availability, pricing, and general product information.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum requirements:
• Ability to work well as part of a sales & marketing team
• Completion of a BFA (or equivalent experience) in design, identity, advertising, and promotional marketing collateral that includes formal studies in graphic design plus at least 1 year product marketing experience.
• Proficiency with industry standard software such as Quark XPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other current design software in a PC environment. The basic need to be able to draw or layout design ideas by hand.
• Strong knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office 2000 (Publisher, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) in a PC environment.
• Proven excellent oral and written communication skills, professional appearance and phone voice.
• Very organized, detail-oriented, able to handle multiple deadlines, able to work well in team environment and able to work well and professionally with a variety of personalities.
• Problem solver and someone who can take accountability and ownership of assigned projects while understanding times lines and budgets.
• Travel requirement will be less than 10 percent.
