Ernst & Young's Financial Services Advisory (FSA) unit is a specialty advisory practice that provides integrated market, credit and operational risk management; operations improvement, business integration, and strategic cost management; and regulatory and treasury advisory services to financial institutions and other capital markets participants. FSA includes individuals who have industry, client and product knowledge as well as quantitative, regulatory, project management and technology professionals. Our teams work together to coordinate the delivery of risk management, regulatory and business performance services to a variety of clients, including commercial banks, investment banks, broker-dealers, asset managers, insurance and energy trading companies, and other organizations. The FSA office in McLean, VA has built a Mortgage Center of Excellence. This is a team dedicated to helping clients manage the risks that occur when originating, purchasing, structuring, selling or retaining mortgages and mortgage related products.The Risk Technology Senior works directly with clients to create and apply technology approaches to business, and typically supervises staff-level advisors on each engagement. The Risk Technology Senior works as an experienced member of risk technology advisory teams involved in all phases of the technology life cycle, including: business requirements definition; technical design; system engineering; and testing.Responsibilities
Design and integrate risk management systems across multiple operating platforms (Windows NT, UNIX), utilizing various programming languages (C/C++, Visual Basic, SQL), object-oriented methodologies (COM+, ASP) and databases (Sybase, SQL Server, Oracle). Design and develop main building blocks of the application architecture and system interfaces.Be a part of the RMRP engagement teams. REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: To qualify, candidates must have: a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related field a minimum of 3 years of experience in risk technology for the financial services industry, or as an advisor to the financial services industry a high-degree of proficiency in C/C++, Visual Basic and SQL with experience in database development development experience in other programming languages (e.g., Java and Perl) as well as Crystal Reporting and/or other dominant reporting tools is highly preferred the ability to work in and knowledge of UNIX and Windows NT environments experience with databases, especially with Oracle, Sybase and SQL strong communication, presentation, client service and technical writing skills, coupled with a strong interest in further developing and integrating risk management knowledge with technology skills
Successful candidates must also have the ability to travel approximately 30%-50%.
