Educational Travel Specialist - Northern/Central Calif.

The Educational Travel Specialist is a member of the Education Sales Department, and reports to the Director of Sales based in San Jose, CA. The position is primarily home-based and applicant must live in northern or central California. We are seeking motivated, goal-oriented Educational Travel Specialists, with a true passion for the value of experiential education, to contact middle and high school teachers via telephone at their schools to explain and promote our history, science and international travel programs. Based on the assigned region, the position would involve 80 to 100% telephone, and a small percent of face-to-face meetings at the schools. Our goal is to provide as many students as possible with the benefit of a top quality, hands-on learning experience. This position focuses on new sales only.

Annual base + commission potential at 100% of plan = $60k to $75k with overachievement possibilities and no cap on commission. Comprehensive benefits included. Related, eligible expenses are reimbursed to support a home office base and business travel. We provide training, a list of contacts, and a proven sales process.

Requirements:
•Minimum of 2 years proven success in a non-retail sales or K-12 teaching.
•Excellent and professional communication skills are extremely important and required.
•Must have an excellent ability to immediately build trust and engage new people over the phone.
•Must have proven ability to promote the benefits of something you believe in, in a sincere, customer service-oriented manner, and to handle objections and rejection.
•Must have proven ability to maintain a positive attitude and to remain focused and motivated in order to persistently pursue new business.
•Must be able to manage a home office.
•Basic computer skills.
•High school degree or equivalent; college degree highly preferred.
