To add to our team of talented people, we are currently seeking a GM of Events & Travel at our Corporate office in Englewood, CO (south Denver area).



The responsibilities of this role include:



Manage the logistics of EchoStar meetings professionally, effectively and provide exceptional value to the attendees while enhancing net revenues. Manage a staff of 15-20 employees including event planners, travel agents and travel accountants.



Specifically, duties include (but are not limited to):
Leads staff responsible for all logistics and execution of on-site activities for EchoStar meetings, corporate travel and corporate expense reimbursement & policy enforcement

Coordinates marketing plans and budgets for national meetings and large-scale events

Develops RFP’s and selects vendors for national meetings and large-scale events

Negotiates and manages contracts surrounding national meetings and large-scale events

Works with marketing, executive staff and other departments to build awareness and participation in EchoStar events and meetings

job Requirements


Minimum qualifications to be considered are:
At least 10 years experience in meeting planning and exhibits management

Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university

Experience managing and supervising multiple employees

Ability to establish rapport with internal departments, clients and executive team

Understanding and working knowledge of convention center and hotel contracts

Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects

Proven track record of delivering high-quality and large-scale events

Excellent PR and cmmunication skills, along with attention to detail, problem solving ability and sound judgment


In addition, we will give preference to candidates with the following:
Masters degree

CMP, CMM, or related certification
