Overview:

This is for one of the leading providers of Business Application ERP Software Solutions in the Windows/SQL Server environment. We have offices in Los Angeles, Cleveland, Seattle, Houston and the New York area. Our consultants provide installation, implementation, training and support, as well as custom development and report writing services to companies in the fast growth, middle and mid-enterprise markets. We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Developer Consultant to augment our Los Angeles practice.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Developer Consultant are:

* Create design specifications for custom programs based on requirements presented by Application consultants or Clients
* Write new custom ERP programs in Visual Basic
* Modify existing ERP Visual Basic programs with enhanced functional logic
* Write MS SQL Server Stored Procedures, Views and Triggers
* Write custom reports in Crystal Reports, pulling data from MS SQL Server databases
* Write custom reports in Sharepoint or other reporting tools
* Use MS SQL Queries and SQL DTS Utilities to extract data from SQL databases or write data to SQL databases
* Conduct QA testing on customizations
* Install custom programs at Client site
* Provide support to clients using custom programs under supervision of a Project Manager
* Document customizations
* Maintain backups of customizations and version control
REQUIREMENTS
Developer Consultant

Requirements:

Suitable candidates must have:
* Current domain knowledge on Microsoft technical platform
* prior programming experience with Visual Basic and SQL relational databases
* a degree in computing and/or business
* an understanding of relational database concepts
* Strong communication skills
* Positive attitude to Customer service
* Desire to learn new technologies and willingness to become certified on Microsoft technologies
* Strong desire for professional development

The following skills would be a plus but are not required:
* MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005
* Crystal Reports
* Sharepoint
* Microsoft certifications
* Experience with ERP solutions and customizations of ERP solutions like Great Plains, Solomon, MAS 500 or other similar ERP packages
* A general understanding of accounting systems and business process

Consultant must be able to work face to face with our Clients in a consulting capacity. This is not a backroom programming position, this is a customer facing consulting position.

* Competitive base salary + bonus program.
