This position will be responsible for supporting and coordinating with users to determine requirements for the databases for HMO Claim Repository applications and it's subsystems. This position will also make recommendations for performance improvements based on interactions with user community, data modelers, designers and developers. You will work with database software vendors and technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems and potential solutions you will review systems under development and related documentation for database structure and performance analysis. You will identify, research and select appropriate methods of enhancement, such as triggers, views, stored procedures, index maintenance, etc. You will also interface with various groups in QA/Testing, Support, Development for all database related issues. And finally, you will define test requirements around incremental database enhancements.Required Experience

Experience with database structure and performance analysis

Experience making recommendations for performance improvements based on interactions with use community, data modelers, designers and developers

Experience defining test requirements around incremental database enhancements

Experience identifying, researching and selecting appropriate methods of enhancement, such as triggers, views, stored procedures, index maintenance, etc.

Excellent analytical and technical skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Experience creating benchmark tests

Experience with designing for scalability and performance

Ability to review designs to determine if any performance impacts

IBM Mainframe Experience

Extensive database and SQL Experience

Web based java skills
