Counter Sales

Primarily responsible for determining the product needs of customers, pulling the items required from inventory, and writing up the transaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Pulls orders from inventory and arranges for large items to be available at the loading area.
Encourages customers to participate in promotions.
Verifies the customer’s account and processes the sales ticket in accordance with Branch procedures.
Establishes and maintains customer relationships, communicates with customers and co-workers to provide technical information.
Informs immediate supervisor when repeat requests for items not in inventory are received.
Gains familiarity of the day-to-day operations of the business and participates in improving operations by offering potential alternatives to existing methods.
Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs.
Able to meet deadlines.
Excellent attendance record required.
Able to work overtime as needed.
Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma with minimum 1 year related work experience.
Qualified applicants must be customer oriented and motivated with excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
Thorough knowledge of warehouse procedure, location of merchandise and understanding of basic electrical products.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Language Skills:
Ability to speak effectively to customers or employees. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer needs.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.

Attendance is required Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. or within normal business hours as established by the handbook. Employee may be required to work overtime, and occasional Saturdays and Sundays.

This position may occasionally be exposed to extreme weather conditions in a warehouse environment at company branches or vendor or customer sites. This is a high stress and fast paced environment.
