Counselor - Children/Families
Human Services Association (HSA), located in Bell Gardens, is a community-based agency providing a wide range of social services to residents of southeast Los Angeles County. The agency was founded in 1940 as an outreach service of the Presbyterian Church, when floods in the southeast area highlighted the pre-existing problems of poverty in Bell Gardens and surrounding communities. While HSA remains affiliated with the Presbyterian Church, all services are administered on a non-sectarian basis.
Since its inception, HSA's purpose has been the enhancement, growth, and welfare of all clients. We are an organization dedicated to helping residents recognize and resolve individual, family, and community problems that inhibit their personal growth. As our motto says, caring becomes doing at HSA.
As a Counselor/Family Services Specialist under the supervision of the Partnership for Families Director, you would provide comprehensive individual, family and group counseling, assessments and case management services to families with children from birth to 5 years of age, and pregnant mothers, whose children are at risk for child abuse and/or neglect.

HSA offers 12 paid holidays per year and paid time off (PTO) accrued at the rate of 18 days per year. We also offer participation in a 403(b) Plan immediately upon hire, and participation in a 401(k) Retirement Plan after 1 year of service.
